Best Soft Coolers With Wheels: Top Rolling Soft Sided Coolers

Soft colours are light weight and easy to carry however once you fill them up with ice and beverages they start to get extremely heavy. Having wheels for your soft sided cooler makes your cooler much more portable and much more user-friendly.

It means you can carry more stuff on your next adventure and you can stay there longer.

They're actually aren't that many soft sided cooler is out there that also have wheels but I was able to find a few that offer good value for money.

Below is my list of the eight best soft sided cooler is on the market today.

Why Choose A Soft Cooler With Wheels?

Before we get into the list let's talk about why you would want a soft sided cooler with wheels.

Easier To Transport

Having wheels on your cooler makes it easier to transport, especially when the cooler is full of ice and drinks and it's quite heavy.

Being able to pull your cooler along instead of having to lift it and carry it can save your back and overall it is a more pleasant experience.

A lot of these soft sided cooler is a light weight and can be removed from their wheels when you just need to carry them short distances or you need to take them to places where the wheels won't really work (eg. the beach). So having wheels gives you more versatility because you can choose whether or not you want to use them or if you just want to carry your cooler using the side handles or the shoulder strap.

Lightweight

Hard sided coolers with wheels can hold ice longer but they are a lot heavier than soft sided cooler is and sometimes they are overkill for the job.

If you look at my list of the best coolers with wheels you'll see a lot of roto-molded coolers which can hold ice for up to a week. However, all of these coolers are extremely heavy even when empty and can be hard to lift in and out of your car.

Soft sided cooler is don't keep ice as long but they are much lighter and easier to move around and if you don't need to hold us for days at a time then they are good enough without the extra weight.

Packs Away Small

Benefit of rolling soft sided cooler is is that when you aren't using them they can pack away small.

For a lot of these coolers listed below the wheelbase contracts and folds up and the cooler its self can also be folded flat. This makes your cooler much easier to store when not in use as it doesn't take up as much space.

This isn't a big deal for people with huge houses and big garages to store the coolers in during the winter but for people who live in smaller apartments and have a more confined space being able to compact your cooler for storage makes a lot of sense.

The 8 Best Soft Sided Coolers With Wheels

As I mentioned earlier, there aren't a great deal of soft sided cooler is with wheels. It's not a very common product type so they aren't a huge amount of options available like there is with regular soft sided coolers.

So this list is a little bit limited.

A lot of the coolers on this list are affordable coolers that can hold us for about 3 to 12 hours. There are very few high-performance soft sided coolers that also have wheels. Click here to see my full list of the best high performing soft sided coolers.

1. Arctic Zone Titan Deep Freeze 60-Can Rolling Cooler (4.4 stars) – $60

The Titan Deep Freeze Soft Cooler with Wheels is a large role in cooler that can hold up to 60 cans at a time. It has a lot of practical features that make it very useful not just for keeping your drinks cool but also for carrying other gear.

The lid of the cooler has plastic cup holders as well as an easy magnetic opening so you can get in and out of your cooler quickly without having to undo the zipper each and every time.

There is a large capacity front pocket for storing dry items as well as to mesh side pockets for even more storage.

It comes with a free detachable bottle opener and the soft cooler itself can be removed from the wheel base and carried with either the side handles for the detachable shoulder strap.

This cooler packs away small when not in use making it easy to store.

The ice retention on this cooler isn't amazing. It has thin foam installation as well as a reflective surface to help insulate against radiant heat. However, this doesn't come close to soft sided cooler is like the Engle HD30 (read my Engel HD30 review) which has a full inch of insulation in the walls of the cooler and can hold ice for days at a time.

I would expect this cooler to hold ice for around about six hours and could potentially hold ice up to 12 hours in more moderate climate. However, given the thin installation of this cooler I think you would struggle to hold ice longer than a day. Click here for a full list of the soft sided cooler is that can hold ice the longest…you'll be surprised at how long some of these coolers can hold ice for.

Overall, the Titan Deep Freeze 60 Can Rolling Cooler offers good value for an affordable price and if you're just looking for a decent soft sided cooler with wheels then this one is definitely worth considering.

2. BUDGET PICK – Coleman 42-Can Soft Cooler With Wheels

The Coleman 42 Can Soft Cooler with Wheels is even more affordable than the titan deep-freeze mentioned above. The capacity of this cooler isn't quite as big and it lacks the cupholders that the Titan has however, it's still a really great cooler for the money.

It features a bungee cord on the top of the lid for holding down items as well as a large front pocket with a zipper and mesh side pockets.

It has a suitcase style telescopic handle that pulls up and makes it easy to wheel along and it also has two side handles for carrying the cooler.

Inside the cooler you have a mesh pocket in the lid for keeping items up and out of the ice/water and a large compartment for fitting a decent amount of ice, drinks and food.

Again this cooler isn't heavily insulated. It has thin foam installation in the walls of the cooler and I would expect around 3 to 6 hours of ice retention on hot days and up to about 12 hours of ice retention in more moderate temperatures.

Below you can see a video detailing the main features of this cooler:

Well this isn't a high-performance cooler it is a cheap cooler and if you're looking for a soft cooler with wheels on a budget then this cooler will be great for you.

3. BEST PERFORMANCE – Evolution Outdoor Design EVO Leak Proof Rolling Cooler

This cooler by far is the best cooler on this list in terms of performance as well as build quality and durability. It also has the highest rating of any soft cooler with wheels and I am very happy to recommend this cooler.

You can hold ice for 2 to 3 days at a time and this is because it has very thick insulation in the walls, base and lid of the cooler.

The zipper of the cooler is rubberized and is 100% leakproof. When closed you can tip this cooler upside down and no water inside will leak out. This is the only soft sided cooler with wheels that is completely leakproof as all the other coolers do not have waterproof zippers.

The exterior of this cooler is heavy duty as well as waterproof and it has a hard plastic lid with cupholders. There is molle webbing on the outside of the cooler for attaching carabiners or other accessories and it comes with a suitcase style telescopic handle and big strong wheels.

This cooler pulls along grass and gravel quite easily.

The only reason I didn't feature this cooler in the number one spot is because of the price. This cooler is high-quality but that high-quality comes at a high price.

While other coolers cost less than $100, and in some cases less than $50, this cooler will set you back over $200. If you have the money the extra ice retention and durability makes this price well worth it and currently it is the only high-performance soft sided cooler with wheels on the market today.

4. Igloo Cool Fusion 36-Can Roller MaxCold Cooler

The Igloo Cool Fusion MaxCold Cooler is a soft-sided rolling cooler with a bunch of different features.

What makes this cooler unique from the other coolers on this list is the hard plastic removable liner. Basically the inside of the cooler is a hard plastic container and this helps to keep the cooler clean and also helps to make sure the cooler is completely leakproof when standing up. Click here to read my full list of soft sided coolers with hard inner linings.

Sometimes other soft sided coolers can leak out of the seams, especially when water is left in there for a long time, but with this cooler that won't happen.

Like the other coolers it features a bungee chord on top for strapping down gear, a front zipper pocket as well as 2 mesh side pockets and side carry handles.

The cooler itself can be removed from the wheel base and carried separately if desired. The wheel base features rubberised wheels as well as a suitcase style telescopic handle.

They claim to have 25% more foam for holding ice longer, but the foam is still quite thin and ice retention isn't extremely high. Again I would expect around about 6 hours of ice retention from this cooler, with longer ice retention possible by using a lot of ice and keeping it out of the hot sun.

Overall it's a good cooler for the money and that hard interior lining is very practical. To see the latest price of this cooler click the link below to see it on Amazon:

5. DBest Ultra Compact Smart Cart Cooler

The DBest Ultra Compact Smart Cart is the smallest soft sided cooler with wheels on this list.

Has a 10-Quart capacity and can fold up small when not in use. It features a front zipper pocket as well as two side mesh pockets for extra storage.

It has small wheels and is easy to pull along concrete but it does struggle a little bit on dirt and gravel.

Overall it's a good little soft sided cooler with wheels and it's one of the cheapest coolers on this list. To see the latest price of this cooler as well as the different colour options click the links below:

6. Columbia Crater Peak 50 Can Rolling Cooler

The Columbia Crater Peak 50 Can Rolling Cooler is very similar to the Titan Deep Freeze cooler mentioned above but doesn't have the plastic cup holders on the lid.

It has a quick access magnetic flap on the lid as well as a front zipper pocket and side handles. The cooler packs away small when not in use and the wheelbase has a telescopic handle that can be raised or lowered for easily transporting your cooler.

The installation is similar to the titan deep-freeze cooler and you should expect around six hours of ice retention for this cooler.

7. Arctic Zone 44 Can Insulated Rolling Tote

This is a smaller soft sided cooler with wheels that is made by the same company who makes the titan deep freeze that held the number one spot on this list.

This cooler has a very different design and feel and looks a lot more like a tote bag than a cooler.

It has a front Velcro pocket for storing dry items as well as mesh side pockets, side carry handles and a removable shoulder strap.

The cooler in self can be separated from the wheel base and use as a tote cooler. To see the latest price of this cooler as well as the different design options available click on the link below to see it at Amazon:

8. Picnic At Ascot Travel Cooler With Wheels 64-Can $65 (4.1 stars)

The Picnic at Ascot Travel Cooler with wheels is a very different design to the other coolers on this list.

Rather than being thin and quite tall this cooler is extremely wide and low to the ground. A lot like the shape of a duffel bag.

Some may prefer this design as it gives you a wider opening at the top for loading and accessing your cooler and makes a great drinks cooler at a picnic or barbecue.

This cooler features a front velcro pocket as well as side carry straps that meet in the middle so you can carry the cooler with one hand.

It also has a detachable shoulder strap and can be removed from its wheel base if you just want to carry it around like a duffel bag.

I like the smart design of this cooler and how different it is from other options that are available out there.

Definitely a pretty cooler soft sided cooler with wheels and it sells for an affordable price similar to a bunch of the other coolers on this list.
