The average wine bottle is just under 12 inches (or 30 cm) in height, meaning that most Yeti Coolers can comfortably hold a couple of wine bottles laid out on their side.
The problem is, if you’re drinking sparkling wine or have already opened your bottle, it’s better to store your wine upright in your cooler — especially because the bottle will be submerged in ice and ice melt.
So which Yeti Coolers are able to fit wine bottles? And which are tall enough to fit wine bottles upright?
All current Yeti Roadie, V-Series, and Haul Coolers are tall enough to fit upright standard wine bottles. Tundra Coolers, which have a more traditional design, are all wide enough to comfortably fit wine bottles laying on their side, but only Tundras sized 75 and up are tall enough to fit wine bottles upright.
Of Yeti’s current soft coolers, only the Hopper 18 is large enough to fit standard wine bottles at all — and only then while laying on their side.
NOTE: While M20 and M30 are both tall enough to fit wine bottles upright they are currently unavailable due to a recall. If they become available then they too will be able to hold wine bottles upright.
Finding the right cooler to hold wine bottles, especially upright, can be harder than you’d think.
Many traditional hard coolers are too short to fit upright wine bottles and most soft-sided coolers are just too small to fit them in general.
Luckily, Yeti still has quite a few solid options, so you won’t have to leave the wine at home.
Which Yeti Hard Coolers Can Fit Wine Bottles?
All current Yeti Roadie, V-Series, and Haul Coolers are able to hold standard wine bottles upright.
In fact, the Roadie 24, which replaced the Roadie 20, was specifically redesigned to be tall enough to hold upright wine bottles. It’s one of the most popular Yeti Coolers for good reason.
The Roadie 24 is 10% lighter in weight and holds 20% more than a Roadie 20, it even performs 30% better thermally. Now accommodates a standard bottle of wine (or 2 liter bottle) upright, and is a better fit behind the driver's or passenger's seat of a car
And while all of Yeti’s Tundra Coolers are wide enough to hold wine bottles laying on their side, because of their lower more-traditional profile, only the Tundra 75 and up can hold them upright.

Which Yeti Soft Coolers Can Fit Wine Bottles?
Of Yeti’s current lineup of soft-sided coolers, both the Hopper Flip 8 and 12 are too small in height and width to fit wine bottles at all.
Only the Hopper Flip 18 (at 14.6”W x 10”H) is large enough to hold standard wine bottles — and still only while laying on their side.

If you can get your hands on a Yeti M30 Soft Cooler or M20 Backpack Cooler, both were the perfect height for carrying upright wine bottles.
Unfortunately, they’ve since been discontinued and recalled because of issues with the magnets on their flip tops coming loose and posing a choking hazard.
The closest I’ve been able to find is Hydro Flask’s 20L Day Escape Soft Cooler — which is one of the few soft coolers on the market right now that’s tall enough to hold wine bottles upright.
This soft-sided backpack cooler keeps things cold for 36 hours, holds 36 cans without ice, and is your beach cooler, hiking cooler, picnic cooler—everything cooler. The padded back and straps are comfortable and the materials outdoor durable, so load up and go.
