How Many Nike Bottles Should I Drink Per Day?

Nike is most well known for their sneakers, but they happen to also make great water bottles for athletes and weekend warriors alike.

How Much Water Should You Be Drinking Per Day?

The notion that we need to “drink eight glasses of water per day to stay hydrated” is decent advice overall, but doesn’t account for how individualized each person’s hydration needs actually are.

Factors like your age, weight, location, activity level, and overall health can drastically change the amount of water that we should consume each day.

Rather than focus on a specific, arbitrary daily fluid intake goal, many experts recommend that healthy adults simply follow a few simple guidelines:

  • Drink when you’re thirsty. Or better yet, drink just before you’re thirsty — thirst is an indication that we’re already playing catch up. 
  • Monitor your urine for color and frequency. Pale yellow or colorless urine and the urge to urinate every two to four hours are good signs that we’re on track. 
  • Keep a water bottle nearby at all times. Having constant access to fresh, cold water naturally encourages us to drink more.
  • Too much water is better than not enough. It’s very hard to over-hydrate. Err on the side of too much water rather than too little.
